I subscribed to Spotify again. After trying YouTube music, and Amazon music it's still the best for my needs. I tried listening with ads but that messes up my vibe way too much. :facepalm:

@LowEndMuse I can't do ads anymore. I want my music with no interruption. I use Deezer, so similar to Spotify, but pays the artists a bit more. Went to them for an alternative to spotify. Only downside is not EVERYTHING is on Deezer, but anything I've tried to find is there.

@LowEndMuse
It'd likely take weeks, but I'm increasingly tempted to rip my entire CD collection to my 2Tb drive and then go buy an old school mp3 player and say goodbye to streaming services entirely.

@stueytheround I thought about that but there are probably upwards of 20,000 tracks in my libraries. That's a lot of work.

@LowEndMuse It'd take ages for me. 600+ cds to rip then load onto a player 🤣

@stueytheround @LowEndMuse

I did this about a year or so ago. Ripped everything to FLAC, so its lossless. 517 CDs. It took a couple of months, I think. I did about 8-10 a day. Now, as soon as I buy a new CD, I rip it and add it to my external hard drive.

@stueytheround @LowEndMuse I got a home cloud and uploaded everything to that so I can listen from anywhere. I spent a good bit of time digitizing my CDs over the years and it paid off when I got the cloud.

@stueytheround @LowEndMuse *digitizing* I'm an idiot... ripping the CDs and digitizing tapes

@stueytheround @LowEndMuse Weeks? I started a decade ago. But, of course, storage got super cheap, and I now have to re-rip the first couple hundred lossless.
