Too bad the Palestinian people seem to largely think them "very fine people".
@mcfate I don't really give a fuck. You'd probably like the only people that stand up to the occupation too if you were born there and all you'd ever known is occupation and imprisonment.
Perhaps.
I guess if I did, I'd also have to learn to like being subjected to further punishing attacks on their behalf.
You seem to be telling me they've chose to be human shields.
If some group is "evil as fuck" and you still support them, I guess you take what you get.
@mcfate You can only become a human shield if you're being incessantly bombed.
You get incessantly bombed by CHOOSING to provide aid and comfort to "evil as fuck" terrorists.
"Sure, we support psychopaths, but we have GOOD REASONS!" is not a great stance to be in.
@mcfate So you'd agree that for 1200 killed that 30,000 is a pretty even response?
No, I never said any such thing. It's totally disproportionate.
However, attacking someone and demanding that they only respond proportionately seems ill-advised to me.
If you run up to the biggest, angriest guy in the bar, drinking with a dozen of his big, angry pals, and slap him in the face, you'd be surprised when they all beat you to a pulp?
@mcfate No, but I'd be surprised if they beat the shit out of everyone in the bar because I was in it.
If you were there with two scrawny friends, it wouldn't surprise me that they caught a beating, too, when you tried hiding behind them.
Human shields.
The simple fact is that there's no right or wrong here, and it's a mistake to support either side.
They're going to fight until they get sick of it or they're all dead.
Or the Palestinians get sick of Hamas and kill them themselves.
@mcfate I only support civilians, that goes for Israel as well.
You support civilians who support terrorists. Plenty of Israelis are fine with all this, as are plenty of Palestinians.
As long as it happens to the OTHER civilians.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@mcfate Whatever dude....you're always right. It's your fucking MO around here.
I just have an opinion. Opinions aren't right or wrong, they're coherent and defensible or not.
You seem to think my goal here is to make you mad. It's not.
@mcfate I'm not mad, just tired of running around in circles.
You could validly say that anyone who supports Israel supports settler terrorism, but that's not true and I know it's not. So I don't say it as an opinion I hold, because I know better.
I have no problem saying that the Israelis haven't voted out a government that fully supports settler terrorism, or saying that it's vile.
Like I said, everyone's to blame.
If you're "running around in circles" that might be a sign that your position isn't coherent.
That's your concern, not mine.
@mcfate I'm not running around in circles because of me. I'm running around in circles to try to wrap my head around all the excuses that people make.
@mcfate Agreed.
@LowEndMuse
That's my solution:
The Palestinians kill Hamas, and the IDF starts putting the boys who dress like they live in 18th Century Poland in a position to get shot at, too.
Their daddies'll get the message.
