Hey peeps, help me with this: with Matt Gaetz not taking the oath for the incoming Congress, there's going to be a special election, right? Is that within the GOP or are the Democrats in play to take his seat?

He resigned current seat.
For some reason, that I can't quite remember the source, I think you need to be sworn in before you can resign. So new term?
Maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in.
@LindaWisner I'm hoping that New Jersey paper was right and that he won't take the oath.
@LindaWisner but he's already said he wouldn't. He's not taking the oath. He won't be in Congress. So that leaves his seat empty.
