For the first time in almost 15 years, I am alone.

Abby traveled the rainbow bridge this afternoon.

Always brave and fiercely independent, she was rescued from the ocean during a hurricane on St Croix. Even as a puppy, the vet promised she would be a great dog. How right he was.

Today I held her in her favorite blanket and chanted her to the other side. Both of us peaceful and calm.

Her beautiful eyes were open when I kissed her farewell and asked her to watch for me on the other side 💫
