Because they tend to bomb a lot of civilians in a place they have surrounded, and can control access, egress, water, power, and everything else.
Which makes some of the surviving civilians full of the sorts of emotions that makes them join terrorists.

Hamas killing people does not make it okay to go and wholesale slaughter a bunch of civilians.
To begin with, Hamas loves it when that happens. You're not denying the enemy what they want.
What is happening is the actions of Hamas are being used to justify attacks on non-Hamas people by the thousands.
Having the right to exist doesn't mean you can kill anyone that looks like the person who hates you.
