I work for one of the many tech companies that's pushing all its chips into #AI and #GPT
I'm not an engineer, I'm a behavioral scientist. Those are my bona fides.
And I can tell you this about AI: not in living memory, not since the advent of nuclear weapons, has humanity saying "we can make this" has so far outrun their asking "should we make this?"

AI is going to reconfigure life, work, and wealth (at least in developed nations) so much and so fast - with effects both good and bad - and it scares me how little we're talking about the non-techy whiz-bang parts.
So many people are going to be left behind. For them, the near future will feel like trying to drive a horse cart into interstate traffic.
