@inthreedays I'm not much for generalizations. They're too easy. So I'll address your reply as someone who votes GOP.
There are extremes in every party, and those extremes tend to get noticed a lot quicker and they also are used by every party to make their point. I refuse to be made part of someone else's narrative. One thing about this place is I have been able to maintain a reputation as a rational individual and someone who doesn't subscribe generalizations

I am a lifelong conservative who almost always votes GOP, so i didn't say it thoughtlessly or happily.
Unfortunately the polling has tRump as popular among republicans (even though he isnt conservative, and was a lifelong democrat until his hatred for Obama changed his path.

And by "changed his path", i dont mean changed his thinking...he is still a power hungry narcissist. But gave him an opening among nationalist minded conservatives, just enought to beat 20 others in a primary where he was given nearly unlimited free airtime on the networks, mostly due to his celebrity.

I don't have a lot of time in the mornings to do long reply's. As luck would have it, I've written a couple things that speak to my views on him. I will say this, the media is utterly complicit in taking out the other candidates back in 2016. Was it his celebrity? Was it that they thought he'd be the easiest to beat? who knows. this is where my mind was in the spring 2016.

@inthreedays now as far as how I feel about the man over his policies... well this is where I was in January of this year. Am I in the same place now... too much up in the air for me to decide what I'm going to do in November. here is the last post I did on him
