The Mobil station on Florence and La Cienega is selling premium gasoline for $6.89/gallon.

The Shell station JUST A BLOCK AWAY sells it for $4.79.

It's not inflation. It's greed.

@LnzyHou We'll always be more expensive because we refine our own gasoline here to combat air pollution. And if a refinery goes down, our prices go up.

@LnzyHou But just three weeks ago we were well over $5. Prices have crashed.

@LiberalLibrarian So there is maybe not enough competition, but there is some. If they're colluding, they're throwing a bone so it doesn't look like they're colluding. We need more of that.

@00pi There are maybe 5 stations within a 1 mile radius of that location, and they're all sub-$5. It just makes no sense.

@LiberalLibrarian There are ways of getting discounts from some of them sometimes, some people have brand preference, perhaps they are running short of one or more grades and want to slow down business until the next refill arrives.

@LiberalLibrarian Mobile is notorious for jacking prices up higher than the competition.
