@LiberalLibrarian I got this email too, and I have also not done business with AT&T in at least ten years.
I have a friend who actually had her identity stolen in the data breach and had someone open a bank account in her name and overdraw it. Now no bank will let her open an account unless she proves it was identity theft, which the police department estimates will take 6 to 12 months. It's awful.
I believe a huge chunk of the breach was for customers prior to 2019.
@LiberalLibrarian We take these issues very seriously. Not seriously enough to spend the time/money/effort to PREVENT them, but just seriously enough to take performative action to avoid large class-action lawsuits.

@LiberalLibrarian Same. My info is out on the dark web and not a single time has it been because I clicked on a malicious link or fallen for a phishing scheme. It's all been from vendors who don't prioritize protecting data.
PS - medical establishments are some of the worst offenders
