The balance in life is between belonging to a group and yet maintaining your own self. Too many people don't thread that needle.
@LiberalLibrarian Happily, many of us find each other and thrive. Groups of people who have little in common other than not belonging are valid.
@LiberalLibrarian Yeah...30 years in corporate America as a dead head is a perfect example of that. I enjoy most people I work with, but will not invite them to my house, ever!
