I mean, the Feds are going to look at this and say "No, you can't just buy a company to destroy it with debts it can't pay."

@LiberalLibrarian I think you more or less explained the plot to Inventing Anna on netflix lol

@LiberalLibrarian YES, but with Elon Musk's plans to sell our information on Twitter, allow spam, censorship at his discretion, and allowing those banned from the platform back on probably for a nominal fee of course! Sure they can come up with that in a heartbeat! Why else would Twitter block users from deleting their accounts? See the connection now? 🤦😤

@Macinewa The thing, he still wants advertising on it. Advertisers don't want to spend their money on a place which is a cesspit of trolling. Not for any moral reasons, but because ads at such a place are ineffective. And if there *is* a mass exodus after he takes over, he'll have fewer eyeballs to sell to advertisers.

But, even if he takes it private, it has to be approved by the Feds. You can't just buy a public company and privatize it without the say-so from DC.

@LiberalLibrarian yeah, I wasn't sure about that but, truth is he didn't buy it because he thinks it's a good investment. He bought it as a dick measuring exercise of a pre-pubescent boy

@Macinewa Oh, most certainly. But even for Eelon, $43 billion ain't nothing to sneeze at, especially when most of the money isn't his.

@LiberalLibrarian I think everyone can agree that there is nothing rational about his choice. He wants to be right and feels like he can do whatever he wants so, I'm hoping it blows up in his smug face personally

@Macinewa Of all the sins the ancient gods punished, hubris was the greatest. A reading of history shows this is still the case.
