It is long PAST time for Supreme Court justices to abide by a defined code of ethics. The revelations recently about outside influence and perceived conflicts of interest make it a priority. If Canon 2 of the Code of Judicial Conduct requires a federal district court judge to avoid "an appearance of impropriety," then the Supremes should not be able to trample on that standard. I spent more time thinking about my conduct as a law clerk to a state trial court judge than some of our Supremes.
