@MidnightRider used to be that the government actually invested in education.My mother was widowed with 10 kids under 14 in 1973. After a few years of groveling on SS and VA benefits, she went to work. We were able to take advantage of grants, scholarships, low interest loans and other tuition assistance. Among my siblings are an oral surgeon, 2 teachers, 2 nurses, a police officer, 3 in business and a carpenter. US should be lifting up education access- college,vocational etc not dismantling it
