Has anyone else read the Celestine Prophecy?

@LadyT A long time ago. I cannot say I took it seriously. I guess I would have to say I find it forgettable, because I can barely remember it. I kind of lump it in with the Michael Speaks And Carlos Castaneda books, and that sort.

When it came out, I noted that lots of people didn't seem to understand it was a novel.

I preferred Dion Fortune's novels that explored spiritual and eastern philosophical and magical concepts.

Maybe I'm just old, and too jaded about prophets. : )

@AskTheDevil ahhhh, it isn't a novel, it's his understanding of what spirituality is and its progression, he called the book a 'parable'

@LadyT It's a fiction, or fictionalized account. I don't really think a story needs to be real to contain Truth, though.

I just didn't personally find it moving. It was rather popular, and occasionally people still bring it up a three decades later. It's kind of a staple in the sorts of bookstores that have lots of crystals, so it presumably has had some impact on others.
