From J Rubin:

"I will add that the press is trying the Streisand Effect: By saying it enough, the race will be impossible for Biden. Because they know best. And have it all figured out. And will say I told you so if Biden loses."

Some expressed surprise that this could happen to a white man. Here we are.

"5. Biden can calm down the angst-ridden and win by going out to the base (e.g. Black Churches), doing a townhall or two (or more- like John McCain!) and putting
@Vp front and center.
"
I thought the panic was weird since Kamala will be next. What's the problem. Black people heard the whistle right away: no black female POTUS. I trust Biden. He picked Kamala, so Kamala is my gal.

Jennifer Rubin gets it:

"1. The pundits' arrogance is off the chances. That materially reduces the chance Biden would ever leave. 2. They do not matter. It drives them nuts that Biden has contempt for them. 3. the ONLY way this changes: the polls collapse, Jill says enough, the entire DNC and the delegates switch to Kamala Harris with no fuss, no muss. 4. The chances of #3 in the Dem Party (we are talking Democrats folks) is about 1 %. Not zero but tiny.

@ReneeVoiceBrand That's my sense from all the social media since the debate. People know who really has their backs.

@ReneeVoiceBrand I will donate as much as possible. Any bedwetting candidate can piss off. I will not give them a penny.

Some good news:
Biden campaign statement (MORE):

"Team Biden-Harris has raised over $33M since Thursday, of which $26M is from grassroots donations. Nearly half of our grassroots donations were from first-time donors to the campaign this cycle. Thursday was our best grassroots fundraising day ever"

@Razdawg22 Sure, any person/people systematically singled out to be persecuted would.

@Razdawg22 People who have been marginalized, scapegoated developed a keener sense for danger. It's a survival adaptation for prey animals. I'm a Chinese immigrant, naturalized citizen. I have experienced my share of racism, but I wouldn't describe my experience as persecution. That's not the case for many blacks. Soldiers in battles also developed that keen sense.

Of the 33m donation since the debate, more than half were from first-time donors.

@Razdawg22 The sentiment from what I have been reading is overwhelmingly for Biden. Particularly vocal are the blacks. I trust them. They have a good nose for BS and sensitive ears for dog whistle.

@mcfate Almost feels like there was a coordinated hit job, just waiting for the right moment to attack. Even Carville. It'd be cool if the debate performance was a way to flush out the blue maga.

So weird the difference/disconnect between pundits calling Biden to drop out and the outpouring support of the base. Harrison just said they got 33m from grassroots donation since debate. T
