So the donor class is upset because Joe promised them he'd only serve 1 term. Who are these people? What's to them that Joe wants another term? Make more sense to double their support for Joe's amazing accomplishment. What do they want Joe (or his replacement) to do?

He never "promised" anyone any such thing. In fact, when the rumors of him "promising" this came out, he immediately denied them.
