Another downside to that ol' "go along to get along/it's not what you know, it's WHO you know" adage combo.

Bertrand Russell wrote that his Bible-quoting granny preached to him "Thou shall not follow a multitude to do evil." But how are you supposed to get the plum positions in pre- and current GOP MAGAdom if you don't know the "right" people, Granny? You can't just join a frat these days...
