Phillies lost. Mets won. Just need AZ to take it tonight in the desert.

56ish games to play and a lot of teams separated by a mere 4 games.

This is the time in the season where you not only pay attention to your team, but all of the teams near you...and who they play. (For instance, AZ and Washington are both in front of us and are playing each other tonight), but an AZ win pulls both of us closer to Washington instead of the Mets just leap frogging AZ).

Most Will Farrell movies (Anchorman) and all of The Office are better in gif format than original form.

I think I've said this before, but Queer Eye on Netflix is nothing but joy and soooo....good to watch. Happy and uplifting.

Learning that Warrior Dash is gone suuuuucccckkkkssssss

Learning that the founder of the Spartan Race lives 10 minutes from where I grew up (and I actually remember when he bought his house because they moved the thing up a hill) is pretty friggin cool though.

Mets rotation for at least the rest of the regular season:

deGrom
Syndergaard
Stroman
Wheeler
Matz

And a lineup featuring:
Alonso
McNeil
Rosario
Conforto
Davis
Frazier
Ramos/Nido
Cano
Nimmo (maybe)

(We won't talk about the bullpen)

This could be fun.

Dodgers/Astros/Braves most certainly in the mix. Of those, go Astros.

After failing a+ 902 by a question today, I've found a...happier... place in some rum and root beer, meet the Robinson's, and now the Dukes of Hazzard movie (which I argue is severely underrated and perfectly cast).

Marvel panel as SDCC is Christmas in the summer for me.

6.5 out of the Wild Card, 3-4 since ASB.

43-51

Mets about to take 2/2 from the AL Central's best 58-35

God damn it, don't give me hope.

Find the videos of the Carnegie Hall choir doing an impromptu concert during the NYC power outage. It's magical.

I know so many friggin lines in this movie.

I haven't done play by play for Mets games this season because, quite frankly, I'd have died from alcohol poisoning if I tried to even do one this year.

National Treasure might be the most rewatchable movie of all time for me. Bless you, Netflix.

(first toot worded funny-Skaggs was born/last Angels no hitter was 7/13/1991)

Trout himself said it best post game: "you write this script and they give it back telling you to make it more believable." (Paraphrase)

If you watch the replay of the last batter, you can argue he knew it was over, so he let up. You can also argue that one of the fastest guys in the league couldn't beat the throw. Or you could say there are just some unwritten rules that apply on certain nights.

I love baseball.

Tyler Skaggs was a pitcher for the Angels who was found dead in his room while the team was in Houston for a series going into the All Star break. His number was 45.

Last night was the first home game since then. All Angels players wore 45.

They threw a combined no hitter and were a walk shy of perfection.

This was the Angels' first no hitter since the day Skaggs was born...7/13...today.

The Angels scored 7 in the first and 6 more through to make it 13.

Mike Trout's HR went 454 ft.

This wasn't rhetorical... however it comes as no surprise that no one is going to engage the conversation about this. Who's gonna admit that?

True story-
Wife: went to the mall earlier because my mom wanted to look for Harry Potter stuff at Hot Topic (I...don't ask questions I don't want the answer to). Saw a big circus tent in the parking lot.

Me: I saw a post about that on Reddit!

Wife: I posted that!

Also true-
This was funnier both in my head and when it happened
