Starting at about 6, my dog makes a series of strategic moves in bed. He goes from curled up sleeping to slithering out, grunting for food. This process is about 40 minutes in length and if I or the wife happen to move "correctly" he about leaps out of bed.

If we're lucky we can coax him back into bed. His eagerness becomes touch and go from there. Sometimes we're not allowed to move, others, he seems to go back to sleep.

An element to being sick/running a fever that I seem to have developed over the years and really hate is waking up in a pool of sweat. Showering at 1 am just to get all the sweat off is so much fun...

I like to have one of my monitors set to my exterior camera feed (my dogs bark at the wind, but I like to know). I saw a squirrel at a bird feeder outside the door to the kitchen. My wife is in the kitchen.

Me: hey, look out the window underneath the feeder (the door has a big window in it. Clear view of outside).

Mission Impossible is just an isolated bit of lunacy. Way better than it should be or deserves to be (however many entries deep they are).

Anyone else catch the Jack Ryan series on Amazon? Finally remembered to catch it. On episode 6. The episode to episode cliff hangers are enough to get you tuned into the next, but not a frustrating pause in momentum. For 55 minutes each, surprisingly fluid. Easy binge.

AND 2 powerplant explosions on top of this. All the same day. Not saying there is a commonality, just a lot of infrastructure having trouble at once.

When you're a creature of habit and there is a disturbance in the force, stress levels are up there. Perpetual shooting muscle pain in my neck helping a headache that I woke up with and has survived 2 Excedrin along with a rainy day doesn't help. I should have taken the whole week off. 2 days didn't seem like too much to work, but now it doesn't seem like it would have been too much to take off, either (already took 24th off and work from home on Fridays).

If there is one thing that puts Thanksgiving over Christmas (there is more than one thing), it's that for some, the day you look forward to is the last day off.
