Sad update - no sign of my calico cat Harley so we’re assuming she decided to run away so she could pass away in peace. She was a great cat, with some medical issues and we were trying to keep her alive and happy as long as we could. We’ll miss her a lot.
@Kungfupussy Sorry to hear that but my understanding is that's their instinct.
Hopefully she found a quiet spot where she could simply.lie down and cross the bridge peacefully

@Kungfupussy My Russian Blue turns 13 next month.
As much as it would break my heart, that's how I want her to eventually go.
