@RavenCutrereULC What happened to Pizza Hut? It used to be so good, but now it’s rubbish.

I tried to start watching Batman: Caped Crusader, and I maybe I should give it a go sometime again, because the story might well be good, but the clunky animation annoyed me so much I just stopped. What happened to fluid animation style? They did it back in the ‘50s. Why is it so bad these days? If it’s a stylistic choice, it’s crap.

A minute ago I deactivated my account over at the other place, and deleted the app on my phone.

I won’t miss it.

I still have my account over at the other place. Not quite sure why, to be honest. I haven’t engaged there in over a year. Checked it just now, and immediately felt disgusted. That place seems beyond saving. So many broken people over there. So much hate. Ugliness. Divisiveness.

Fuck that place.

So nice to be back in the .
The summer is over, yet the temperatures are unseasonably warm. It’s quiet. Relaxing. Sauna, a dip in the Baltic Sea. An adult beverage or a few. *ahem*

Have a good weekend, CoSoNauts!

Mushroom season is well under way. An hour in the forest. Some were fried as a side dish for deer tenderloin. The wee ones will be pickled.

@MPCavalier An interesting anecdote. I didn't know that.

Watching "2010: The Year We Make Contact" again. One of my favourites. A well worthy successor to "2001: A Space Odyssey"

An incredibly underrated sci-fi movie by Peter Hyams, the director of another great sci-fi movie "Outland".

If you haven't watched either of them, I highly recommend that you do.

Hey all CoSoNauts!

The summer vacation is finally here and me and the missus will be in the for the next three weeks, if nothing unexpected happens.

It's been fairly windy today, but sunny.

Have a good one, wherever you are!

Summer vacation begins as of today! Three weeks at first, and a week to be saved for later.

Very much needed, even though I can never be entirely disconnected from work. There will be some things I have to take care of now and then.

Still, it’ll hopefully be a relaxing time in the

Well. Netflix's "Atlas" was crap. Video game graphics, stereotypical narrative and characterisations.

There just doesn't seem to be any decent, new(ish) sci-fi out there.

Came to the summer house for the weekend. Quite a thunder storm that passed directly over a few hours ago, but the rain was most welcome. It's been hideously hot for a week or so, and it hasn't rained in weeks.

The nature welcomes even this 5 mm that rained during a couple of hours.

@CauseEffects Cats own the Internet, of course, so that's always a given. 😉

But the manga/anime art in such volumes is a bit odd.

@Livology I'm not the only one, though. I've seen others commenting on the same thing. I don't follow any manga artists, either. Those posts are all from the Discover feed.

It must be the algorithms. But I'll be damned if I knew why they thingkI'd be interested in that sort of thing.

Nothing against manga/anime per se, but it's just not my thing at all.

I just finished watching 3 Body Problem on Netflix. I have the book but haven't gotten around to reading it yet, so I can't compare the adaptation with the book. I assume they've taken the usual liberties, and then some.

I wasn't impressed with the Netflix adaptation. It didn't feel much like sci-fi, even. It was a drama with some sf elements.

The dialogue and characterisation of the main characters was largely cringey. About the only interesting character was Benedict Wong's.Clarence Shi.

Very much looking foward to a ten day vacation at the ”summer” house, starting tomorrow.

The solitude, quietness. Sauna every day. Good food & the odd adult beverage at one’s pleasure. Felling a couple of trees for firewood and other outdoors chores.

And putting aside all work related thoughts.
