I am on Medicare. These are my eye drops for glaucoma. I was informed by my drug insurance company that they were no longer on their drug formulary, and now cost me $175 per month. I am at a loss for words, other than WTAF?
@cjtownsend
Exactly. The land of suckers. We put up with this crap.
@Konahawk
And we continue to reelect our "Bought and Paid For" politicians...
@Konahawk Contact the manufacturer. The often have discount programs.
@elric
Thanks. Will do. But why do we put up with this for-profit bullshit when it comes to health care?
@Konahawk I wish I had an answer.
@Konahawk I strongly suggest calling your Dr and asking for drops which will be covered. Also call the manufacturer of the drops. Most have the ability to give them to you for free. My mother in law did this for my father in law. I hope this helps you.
@IamFlowergal1
I have an appointment in March and will do that. Thanks. Still though, WTAF?
@Konahawk Check out GoodRX and scope out the prices for the same drops at all the pharmacies in your area. When I went on Medicare my insurance didn't cover one of my medications. I found it was cheapest at Costco ($54/90 day) and ran as high as just south of $2000 for the same 'script elsewhere. Everyone else was somewhere in between. Stupid that it's such a footloose market out there but if you shop around you may be (hopefully) surprised.
@Konahawk
"Only in America..."
(Sigh...)
