Denver gave 800 people $1000/month for 10 months
45% of participants secured their own house or apartment after receiving basic income. They also experienced fewer emergency room visits, nights spent in a hospital or a temporary shelter, and jail stays. The report estimates that this reduction in public service use saved the city $589,214.

That is an unfair criticism.
Over 8 million was spent to bring 500 out of homelessness and benefiting 500 more. And over $500k was saved in emergency services. People were safer and healthier with a UBI
I for one think helping people stay out of the emergency room is a good idea
