This is how we have a bird flu pandemic.

CDC says bird flu found in raw milk. And you shouldn't drink it to prevent the spread of the virus.

Idiots: don't tell me what to do!

Raw milk sales increase

@Kinnison there's a video from a few years ago where several state reps drank raw milk as a stunt/photo op and all got sick af. 'twrong

@JohnRadcliff Mom grew up on a dairy farm and we used to visit frequently when I was a youngster. Raw milk was what we/they drank and thought nothing of it. Never had any issues. Having said that, there is no freaking way that I would drink it now. We all had the tolerances and immunities back then. Dad and I used to eat raw hamburger, too. E Coli has mutated to be a lot more nasty now. Things change and our behaviors need to change with them.

@Ironworker229 when I was a butcher we had this one customer that made Beef Tar Tar (I might be spelling that wrong) . It's a dish that uses raw ground beef. Before I even started, I would clean the cutting board and breakdown and clean the meat grinder to make sure there was zero contamination (and pray there wasn't any contamination somewhere up the distribution chain). It's just a different world than what we grew up in.

@JohnRadcliff Yes, here in the US, anyway. We took a trip to Europe several years back and planned a few hours in Brussels, stopped and ordered lunch from a small cafe with a deli counter. I had the beef sandwich on a nice roll. Yeah, that beef was in no way cooked! Tasted fine but the tartare texture was definitely different when I was expecting shaved (cooked) beef! I suffered no ill digestion, though.

@Kinnison The Amish farm over yonder sells raw milk. I haven't ever drunk it because my guts would probably explode.

But besides that ... I think stories like that bring it to people's attention. "There's raw milk? I wonder what that tastes like." Then they go looking for it.

The Amish also have unhomogenized milk. I've had that. It's good. You have to remember to shake it.

@GeezerWench

Even Pregnant Amish women do not drink Raw Milk. They know how bad it can be for a developing fetus
