Mike Gallagher (R-WI) will resign early, & the GOP's majority will likely shrink to just 217-214 in May.
That would mean they'd only control the House thanks to two illegally gerrymandered districts in Alabama & Louisiana that have been struck down for racial discrimination & redrawn for 2024

Like Ken Buck. Mike Gallagher carefully timed his departure. Under Wisconsin law, congressional vacancies occurring "prior to the 2nd Tuesday in April" in an election year get filled on a faster timeline. An April 19th resignation will keep Gallagher's seat vacant until November
