Bored. Sitting in the waiting room waiting for my wife to get done with her gastro appointment. So let's talk about my life with cats so i can share some good stuff with CoSo with all the crap going on. /1
First cat i remembered was casey. Was a male with 2 tone black and white. As a 5 year old i loved just sitting down and watching his tail flip. Sometimes he would be gone for a few days. Saw him once two miles from home. Got sick one day and passed /2
Paddington was a female calico. Had her for a few years, she had 2 litters of kittens and then given away since my parents didn't want so many cats. /3
My mom opened an upholstery store and wanted some shop cats. In come a bonded male pair Matleze and corduroy. Long hair torties and black respectively. Mat was more agressive and kind of dominated over Cor. Cor got hit by a car, and a few years later so did Mat. /4
I thought we would never have cats again. Until my mom came to me with something hidden in her jacket and said "guess what i have"
Must be a treat i thought "M & Ms?" It was a gray tabby. And i juat gave him his name. Amazing cat. Was my shadow for over 10 years. Active happy cat. Got in a fight and had a big cut on his face that never healed and had to put him down /5
Skeeter was another gray tabby. If M&M was my shadow. Skeeter was even more so. Never left my side except for going out. Always greeted me at the door. Amazing hunter. Even was able to catch squirrels and small rabbits. Got a urinary block and had to be put down. Kind of devastated me when i had to make that choice but i couldn't afford to treat him. 13 years of love is what he gave me. And i gave him peace for being such a good kitty 😢/6
Why do i love cats? They are very independent and easy to care for. And give a lot of affection for little effort. And sometimes they just know that you need your love tank filled and thier purrs can keep the demons of your life at bay. And know that even tho your life might be crap. There is a bag of fuzz that always loves you /8 fin
And now i have Tenjin. (Shinto god of scholarship). The cartoonist John Kovalic had an outdoor cat with a litter. Gave me one of the three. 10 week old and feral. Took about a week of love to finally get tenjin to fall asleep in my arms. Very talkative cat. And loves the outdoors. Can be demanding and will play bite when he doesn't get what he wants. But allways wants his head propped up when resting /7
