How often does El Nino occur?
"Typically every 2 to 7 years and the conditions last for 7 to 9 months" - Country Living
Thank you to the magazine Country Living. I live I Florida and need to know more about the environment and had no clue what El Nino is and I am no scientist. But at least now thanks to Country Living and NOAA I have a basic definition and wanted to share the info.
@TrueBloodNet Thanks and I will be sure to use NASA, The National Weather Service and Counter Social as a resource.
There is so much about El Nino and other weather issues I will never understand but for non-scientists like me if we can find a good resource we can at least get a very basic definition of something. The internet is such a valuable tool.
@TrueBloodNet Very true. You have to read reputable sources and sadly many people are reading bad sources because they agree with the politics of the source. A good rule is to go with the experts in the field and to look for concensus among those experts. So for weather I am going to consult the meteorologists and we have a very good one in South Florida, John Morales.
@KathyV ITA on that. It can also be problematic if folks are reading bad sources though. It's like mining for diamonds in a limestone cave...
