If you love to read, as I do, why not committ to the Ray Bradbury Challenge. Here is Ray Bradbury himself explaining it:

"I'll give you a program to follow every night, a very simple program…one poem a night, one short story a night, one essay a night, for the next 1,000 nights"

I am taking the challenge till the end of this year and it's amazing how much I am learning. And poems, short stories and essays of one's choosing are easily available on line at no cost.

@KathyV I just recently got The Complete Collection of Poems and Tales of Edgar Alan Poe for my Kindle. I think that would be a good place for me to start. Maybe throw in some Emily Dickinson and Agatha Christie (she wrote short stories!) for good measure.

@IrisDallen it would be a great place to start and once you finish with Poe, Dickinson, Christie there are sites on the internet like A Poem A Day or Poetry.org that you can use and the library of course and also collections of books 50 Greatest Short Stories etc. Good luck with the challenge which you can do for however long you like.
