Peanut the squirrel was euthanized to test for rabies & the internet goes nuts.

He was taken away due to "anonymous " complaints that they had an a wild animal as a pet who was found abondoned & was an orphan over 7+ years ago
( tho granted it is illegal in their state)
He was all over TikTock and was the figure head for their animal rescue
He had not bitten anyone & I haven't seen anything regarding rabies

Not sure if the link posted to you. Several articles are out, just Google peanuts the squirrel. Apparently he bit one of the investigators.

At this time, there is only one way to determine if an animal has rabies if they havent' had the vaccine & that's to do a necropsy of the animals brain.

Thanks for the info and I have been in vet medicine for 30+ years and am aware of how to prep an animal for a rabies test
