I'm currently in Alberta Canada, there have been several tornadoes here in the last few days. Here's some video of the biggest one that went through a farming community on Canada Day. They say that it varied between one and two kilometers wide and was actually on the ground for almost 20 minutes.

@nonayadambidnes And here I thought tornadoes were an murica-associated climate event...hope people and animals were able to avoid the destruction.

@Kaos_vs_Control There was a bad one here back in 1987, they call it Black Friday. It went through the eastern part of the city of Edmonton. 27 people killed and 300+ injuries.

We usually get tornadoes every summer but usually in more unpopulated areas. This one ran over a few farms and there were no human injuries, but I read that 25 cows, a bunch of chickens and a horse were lost, and several houses and farm buildings were absolutely destroyed.
