Eliminating tax on social security will just deplete the SS fund quicker since this tax goes back to the trust fund.
Well, you can tell them that the trust fund only pays part of our benefits. SS brings in enough revenue from payroll taxes to cover a portion of our benefit, around 70+%, so they will get something, just not what we get.
@KGinKS @OldDude71 They need to remove the cap on paying into Social Security. Right now, 2024, if you make more than $168,600 per year, you stop paying into Social Security. Why is that? People who make over that and retire can draw from it.

Both of my adult sons know they will never see a $1 of the SS tax they pay on income.
