PSA: 15 mins can save a lot of grief. Protect those you love, especially if you are visiting someone elderly, pregnant or immunocompromised.

@Jule_B ~ Excellent reminder.

We do this for all family gatherings now, and it's amazing to me that folks will complain or refuse. So, our gatherings are smaller, but we know where people draw the lines and what their priorities are.

And I'm okay with that. πŸ™

@Jule_B Also remember that they are only accurate 5 days after the start of symptoms.

@Jule_B

And people who've stopped masking should strongly consider masking for 2 weeks beforehand when possible. Won't help now, but Christmas is coming.

@Jule_B I insist on people doing them before visiting me! I demand photos of the test, dated! Honestly! Point is, I'm managing to stay alive with cancer and I'm certainly not letting some careless person finish me off with covid!

@Florence Didn't occur to us until a week ago, had a family zoom and decided to pool and get everyone a kit in advance. It's not full-proof, but its something.

@Jule_B Yes, I agree. It's better than nothing and it also focuses people so that they think if their feeling well or not, they don't just think they've got a sniffle. They might actually ring to ask if I'm OK with that... I'm not!

@Jule_B agreed. Also remember to start with throat and back of cheeks by molars and then do nose, as RAT are missing about 50% of Omicron based cases.

@Jule_B Yes, test before family holiday gatherings because hundred of Americans are dying each week from COVID19. We all wish it was over but it’s not. cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19
