“ On Sunday November 23 1924, 100 years ago this month, readers perusing page six of the New York Times would have found an intriguing article, amid several large adverts for fur coats. The headline read: Finds Spiral Nebulae are Stellar Systems: “Dr Hubbell Confirms View That They Are ‘Island Universes’; Similar to Our Own”.
The American astronomer at the centre of the article, Dr Edwin Powell Hubble, was probably bemused by the misspelling of his name.”

@ITKV unfortunately you are right , we have fallen this low and I don’t know if we can recover.
Sen. Susan Collins who's always "concerned" and though she had survived her controversial votes before, she could be putting her political future on the line this time or could be forced into retirement if she passes Matt Gaetz.

I fact checked this , it is beyond me that someone would vote against it and Matt Gaetz did it .

@TrueBloodNet of course red states won’t pass it , since this is a new topic for me I need to get more information about which states have not passed it yet and why not , bou 209 electoral votes is close to what we need , just 61 more.
@TrueBloodNet there are 18 states members of it already making a total of 209 electoral votes, it is not about giving up anything, it is actually giving power to the voter in every state, the way it works now the swing states decide everything, they basically make someone else’s vote useless.
@TrueBloodNet you might be right but I’m hopeful, there are 18 states in it already making a total of 209,the only thing people have to do is to call the senators and representatives to make them join the other states , the Constitution doesn’t change, actually it is already allowed.
@JV3MJD that is literally the “ Epstein “ party !! How many of their candidates in that kind of problems?

In this video they explain what is the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact , some of the key features are:
-It preserves the electoral college.
-It is fully allowed by the Constitution without an amendment.
-Ensures the popular vote winner becomes the president every time.
-It injects the fundamental principle of one person one vote into our presidential election.

@Alfred thank you!!
@Jorro The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is an agreement among a group of U.S. states and the District of Columbia to award all of their electoral votes to the presidential candidate who wins the national popular vote, rather than the candidate who wins the popular vote in their individual state. The compact would only go into effect once states representing a majority of the Electoral College votes have joined. The goal of the NPVIC is to ensure that the presidential candidate who receives the most votes nationwide becomes the President, regardless of the Electoral College outcome. Supporters of the NPVIC argue that it would make every vote equal and ensure that candidates campaign in all states, rather than focusing on swing states. As of September 2021, 15 states and the District of Columbia have signed onto the NPVIC, totaling 196 electoral votes. The compact has sparked debate and controversy, with opponents raising concerns about potential legal challenges and questioning the impact it could have on the traditional role of the Electoral College.
