And, just like that........for me personally, I've got to turn the other cheek. Otherwise, the vileness will consume me.

How to go about that will be a work in progress. I've been here before, it's not new territory. Just gotta give it a minute to sink in and then dig in my heels.

I'm not gonna give it the power. I'm not.

So, where do I have control? In the same arenas I had before these results. I can give of myself to others. I can continue to support my causes. I can continue to volunteer and show people there are others in this world who do care about them and the issues that affect their every day lives.

There are people who depend on me. And I am not going to let them down.

And, I'm going to start today. Not tomorrow, not next week. I'm going to dig in my heels. I'm going to put myself on the rosters to fill slots where they need to be filled. I'm going to help women who are trying to escape domestic violence; I'm going to fix meals for the hungry. I'm going to work at the food pantry. I'm going to give of myself because that, that's how we make a difference. I will not succumb to the lost cause factor.
