@Jorro, I thought you might enjoy this lovely piece on Christian .

The interviewer, David Brooks, is more elitist in his faith-practice, and his skepticism shows up in some of his questions for Luke Bretherton. Meanwhile, I as a secular humanist disagree with Bretherton on other accords - but either way, I hope this interview offers a refreshing rejoinder to some of the Christian-nationalist rhetoric you seem to be enduring in other spaces.

Cheers!

@MLClark I finally read it , today was a busy day , I loved the article, the church that they show there is not a church I know, they talk about several types of Christianity but we live in a wealthy country, here the church has some “ superiority “, my pastor , the first one when I was baptized was like a Saint , even his face was like a saint , he didn’t care about money or anything like that , after he retired because he was old I never found another one like him , the ones I found were like.

@Jorro

It sounds like you carry in your heart the gift of a powerful bond from early years in the faith.

I'm so sorry you haven't been able to find a community like that since. I remember a study noting that church-going is often a lonelier experience than not going at all when one doesn't feel connected to other members.

You know what's missing in your churches, though, and you try to live up to higher standards.

I hope you find a community that supports such wonderful convictions, friend.

@MLClark I do too , with my first pastor ( I was catholic before) it was a new experience that was fixed in my mind and heart forever, I haven’t found a church like that after my pastor retired.
