This is bad , they shouldn’t have cancelled;
“ The U.S. Naval Academy is under fire after it invited — then uninvited — a distinguished expert on authoritarianism and fascism to give a lecture.
Dr. Ruth Ben-Ghiat is a professor of history and Italian Studies at New York University, where her bio says she “writes about fascism, authoritarianism, propaganda, and the threats these present to democracies around the world.”

@AskTheDevil that is a good question I have asked too .
@Jorro I can’t believe a military establishment buckled under such criticism. Is that how they’re going to handle
Themselves in war time?
@cjcrew it is unbelievable, isn’t it?
@Jorro I’m having trouble believing it. It also peeks my paranoia.
@cjcrew now everyone wants to be politically correct.
@Jorro Politically correct makes sense until they get ridiculous with it. I sometimes think they make a characature of it so we’ll stop demanding civility from them when they address others.
@cjcrew yes, and that is ridiculous.
@Jorro It’s basic civility. Treating everyone like you want to be treated. The Golden Rule brought to us by that Jesus character the other side professes to love and follow but still does and says the opposite of what he taught.
@cjcrew exactly!!
@Jorro Utterly shameful.
We need our military to not bend to pressure from fascists to not talk about fascism.
This makes me wonder if Trump wins and does his dictator thing, if the military leaders will fall in line behind him.
