“ Just beneath the surface of Blumenthal’s remarks is a widely discussed mega-deal that would effectively create a U.S.-Gulf regime neo-colony in Gaza, commit the U.S. to going to war for Saudi Arabia, and plunge us deeper into a new cold war with China.

Lawmakers are aiming to link these far-reaching policies to the reconstruction of Gaza to make the deal more difficult to oppose. The pact would be imposed on the Palestinian people.”

@Jorro

Did you read their recent piece on Raytheon?

It's a little distracting, at times, to talk in terms of nations when groups like these are in bed with everyone, working to sustain business/war wherever there are contracts to be won.

“The Raytheon allegations are stunning, even by the lax standards of the arms industry. Engaging in illegal conduct on this scale suggests that, far from being an aberration, this behavior may be business as usual for the company.”

@MLClark no , I haven’t read it yet , I have been really busy, I read this article in the morning but I was working and I didn’t have time , I will read your article in a little while, but it is scary the way things work .

Thanks !!

@MLClark @Jorro

I worked at Raytheon in Texas for 8 years… like all mega world wide corporations- there are thousands of people that work hard and never come in contact with the illegal conduct and business at senior leader level. It was a terrible move for me…. I should never taken the job.

I was shocked when trump appointed Mark Esper, one of Raytheon’s top lobbyist to be the Secretary of Defense!!!! Talk about the ultimate conflict of interest!

@QueenOfEverything @Jorro

That's part of how these businesses survive: they become such essential labour for people's livelihood that even if the corporation is a net negative for the species / planet... who's going to go against the company that provides so many jobs for so many locals just trying to raise their families, help the elderly & vulnerable in their circles, and live a decent life for themselves?

Protesting such a thing feels mighty extravagant to the person just trying to get by.

@MLClark @Jorro

The actual "people" are the shallowest roots for these corporations who are vastly connected with all levels of govt from local, state, national, multi-national. (and then there's the musk rats that connect to space) so these black sticky webs are everywhere.

And then key people are placed to protect the webs... like being Secretary of Defense.

@MLClark @Jorro

How are they ever stopped? Just reading the article as it listed all the charges and fines assessed to Raytheon... it's a bargain- the cost of doing business get added to their buyers- but it doesn't stop the crime.

@QueenOfEverything @MLClark it is not your fault, it was just a job for you , you didn’t do anything wrong, we as employees don’t make decisions, and yes , that was conflict of interest!! But that is how government works!!
