I just spent 2 minutes watching a video of Nick Fuentes talking about "gay." I won't say I'm speechless, because I'm never speechless, so I'll say this:

When we weigh the benefits & detriments of social media we need to include the fact that pre-SM, that would have been an 11pm Saturday night monologue to 3 guys across the table in a roadside diner at the intersection just outside of town. It would have ended,

"What do you want to do now?"

"I don't know. What do you want to do?"

But now?

@A_Jay_Adler what is so disappointing/enraging about this is that for the most part we had relegated these people to the shadows. Trump mainstreamed them and gave them their voice back. People like Trump and Fuentes are the worst of who we are.

@JohnnyGage_DixieMcCall It's true. They were always there, but they'd been increasingly marginalized. Trump brought them back into the light. But the GOP gave him his platform, and I don't mean simply the nomination. It created a mindset & a media culture over decades that enabled his success once he sought it.
