@Demosthenes1959 Leica is too rich for my blood. I use a Nikon fullframe DSLR, and am reasonably happy with it. Now that so many people are going to mirrorless, I can often get quality used lenses at affordable prices.
Abortion was not a winning issue in the midterms--abortion extremism was. The Democrats did poorly than they should have in some red and purple state races because they were seen as the extreme candidates on the ballot, as did Republicans in other races.

My thesis before the election was that people primarily voted based on their intuition according to their virtues and vices, but then looked for logical rationales to justify that vote. This seems vindicated by the results.
Fortunately, the electorate's better angel by and large prevailed. It helped that Trump was not on the ballot, but that Democrats were running against him.
It wasn't the economy, stupid.
