"Good character should never be optional in leaders, and strength of character is more important in difficult times. But it’s now wrong to simply assert that truth as self-evident. Millions of Americans disagree. They’re willing to hold their noses and vote for someone they might not even trust to manage a local McDonald’s and send them to the United States Congress, or even the White House, so long as they defeat the hated enemy on the other side."

@Miamoex If, for example, crime were the most important issue in large cities, as the GOP contends, then the voters there would be throwing the Democrats out. But it isn't the most important issue there.
@Miamoex My point is that they are people you don't know and haven't talked to. You are correct in one sense, however: their fears are largely illusory. They are reacting to what they see on TV and horror stories being peddled on social media, on Fox News, and on local news programs ("If it bleeds, it leads!") and saying, "I don't want that in my community or in my schools!" But none of their fears are things they have experienced firsthand.
@Miamoex Well, then you need to get out more.

@Mimi_memorykeeper68 The big financial danger to him is that Tesla stock price is highly dependent on his personal branding. It is possible that it could begin to tank now that the myth of his genius is being punctured.
@ChristopherBudd But is it already too late? The best chance of success relied on the confidence that Musk knew what he was doing. Who believes that now?
@ChristopherBudd @John_Scotus I mean, the lack of any plan was obvious when he started negotiating verification prices via tweet. Like, you clearly did no market research or business plan for this huge policy change. 🤦🏻♀️
