SMH. I just don’t think it is right for NHK to interview a sumo wrestler and compliment him on his record when he just won with a henka. It’s bad form for him, and NHK.

(A henka is when a sumo wrestler just dodges the other wrestler during the initial charge, shoving the charging wrestler into the ground. A legal move, but as an easy way to win against a larger or more skilled opponent, it is considered cowardly.)

@John_Scotus Thank for for illustrating the move. I completely agreed - COWARDLY. I wonder how the other competitors treated him after the match.

@butchjones The wrestlers generally only come into normal contact with the other wrestlers in the same stable--on their team. The wrestler in question, Hoshyoryu, is the highest ranked wrestler in his stable and the only one still with a shot at the championship this tournament, so I doubt anyone in his stable said anything or treated him any differently. It would be like someone on the Bucs criticizing Brady after he won a game.
