George Will thinks that both Biden and Harris should decline to run in 2024, or else we face another Trump presidency.
While I agree that Biden and Harris are both weak candidates, here's the thing: When it is winner take all, you have to go with the hand you got. Just because all you have is a pair of twos, you don't throw away your whole hand and demand five new cards. You just don't.
@John_Scotus Respectful disagree. The Dems have a pretty deep bench that is unfortunately being shadowed by the Clintonite octagenerians. Buttigeig, Newsom, Castro, Booker, Warnock, Swalwell, Kelly, maybe Gillebrand. Same for 2028 and you get Ossoff, Pressley, and of course, the Khaleesi herself, Ocasio-Cortez.
@John_Scotus I'd prob dump Harris but I don't get the idea that Trump would beat Biden. He couldn't as an incumbent.
@John_Scotus I think a Harris/Buttigieg ticket would be quite a strong one. If Eric Swallwell was not from CA, I think he would do well on the ticket with Harris too. She's a lot more than people think she is - with party backing she would truly shine.
@John_Scotus since when does anyone give a rats a.. about what George Will says…? Haven’t heard his name in ages!
Think about the other clowns who ran for president in 2024. Would any of them be stronger candidates than Biden? There is no one on the bench that can easily win this thing.
