When the Founders talk of the patriotic duty to wage armed insurrection to overthrow tyranny, they referred to colonial British forces and invading armies. They weren't referring to the American government or to public officials or their family members. The man who tried to kill Pelosi's husband isn't a patriot, nor were the people who staged Jan. 6--including Trump. He is a common criminal. A bum. This shouldn't have to even be said.
@John_Scotus trump is a traitor. I hope he falls under the Espionage Act for possession of classified material. It’s mind boggling that people still believe what he says and that they have perverted things like Patriot, the American Revolutionary flag Don’t Tread On Me, the support of Putin, the concept of the need to have armed poll watchers and our local sheriff’s allowing it. So many things are so wrong with the mental illness that is trumpisim.

It's an argument I've long made. The revolutionary war was fought against Britian and NOT between the colonies. That was the civil war but for whatever reason, we've ceded that narrative to the loons.
