I wasn't alive when Paris was liberated (25 Aug. '44), but I sure would have loved to have been there. There was temporary but overwhelming joy in the midst of chaos and suffering. The war wasn't over by any means, but everyone could feel it would be.

This is what it feels like today.

I've been struggling with sensory overload around politics here. I've filters upon filters, but too much keeps slipping through to the point I've thought about taking a 3 month hiatus. Before I do that and miss all you wonderful Nauts, I have created a list of all the people who a. inspire me and b. who are important for me to be there for. The Firehose and Friends columns are gone. I only see people on that list until I have the capacity for politics again. Thank you for understanding.
