People ask me if I believe in god... I tell them I pray to creator.
They tell me Jesus died for me... I tell them my ancestors did.
They say I will burn in hell for not following the Bible, but yet it has been used as weapon to colonize and murder my people...
for me it’s spirituality over religion. I don’t hate people for going to church, but I do hate what the churches have done to us...
before colonization we had our own ways and ceremonies, I choose the path of my ancestor

I was raised Catholic. I raised my kids that way because of my mom. I am a very spiritual person, not religious. My kids are also spiritual beings as I never leant much credence to the religion itself, but the spirituality of what "jesus" was. Religion loses all the meaning of him (or her?) The connection of the spiritual forces between human beings and nature is what matters, and we are in a time when there is some really bad energy out there. Very hard for me to process right now.
@John_Ripley well almost 70 million Americans are having difficulty processing this, right along with you, so you’re definitely not alone!
Good for your kids that you’ve taught them some important concepts.
