@SpaceShanks Totally understand. I was worried you and Shanks were gone for good. There were several times I came across orange cat shenanigans and thought about posting for Shanks.
Mr Shanks is still upset with me over his new forced low calorie diet. I took him on his first camping trip a couple weeks ago (well we had a cabin but still) and the little guy was apparently a sleeper mouse hunter cause he went to town on the little mice in the middle of the night lol
@SpaceShanks ever consider buying him some fuzzies from the pet store??

@SpaceShanks @misslovelymess baby mice that have some fur. They are usually for snake feeding but cats like em too.
@Jezibaba @misslovelymess ohhhhh! I hadn't considered that. I was slightly grossed out when I woke up the first night to the sound some something being munched on and figured Shanks was into his food somehow. Turned the light on and there he was with half a mouse and the biggest shit eating grin I've ever seen.

@Jezibaba @misslovelymess oh yeah totally! I was perfectly fine with him going to town because it kept them out of our food and most importantly, off of me while I slept lol

@SpaceShanks @misslovelymess he's def a chonk. How'd he do traveling? My cats are terrified of the car.
@Jezibaba @misslovelymess so he still complains for most of the driving we do but now he's comfortable staying in the front passenger seat where I can give him pets when he's feeling really stressed out from the ride.
He's doing a LOT better than the first road trip I took him on where he peed all over himself and everything else in my car.
@SpaceShanks @misslovelymess that sounds about right. They love the destination but detest the journey there.
Think he'll get used to it?
@Jezibaba @misslovelymess yeah he is on track, in my opinion, to be a proper happy road trip kitty in the next six months or so if I keep taking him on trips.
I'm going to take him with me tomorrow for a little cruise into the mountains and possibly a night of camping.
We were way out in the middle of nowhere with the cabin we stayed at and he got to see birds, chipmunks, mice (obvs), and all kinds of critters. He loved it.
I had a pretty good time too 😎

I was holding the little chonks the whole time we were outside the cabin and his head was on a swivel the whole time.
He's a happy little orange goofball.

He wouldn't leave my side when I was in the cabin with him. Like, come on, shanks! this cabin bed is SMALLLLL and we are both needing to lose a little hahaha

This photo shows just how small those beds are. Given I'm 6'3, it didn't even have enough room for me much less Mr Shankie Stanks.

@misslovelymess @Jezibaba I accidentally booted him off the bed a few times cause he would snug up anywhere he could and unfortunately for him, I'm a sleep kicker hahaha

It got to the point where if I woke up for a moment and he wasn't on the bed, I knew he was hunting mice.
I started calling him Ghost Shanks. Mostly because I'm weird.
