We have three mohu leaf antennas, two with the amplifier. They work decently, though there's definitely interruptions from the flat one on very rainy days. They're at least 5 years old, though, so I'm sure the technology has improved.
We mainly use the firebox or firesticks with apps (we have Disney/Hulu, Netflix, & sign into a couple of them via my FIL's cable account) and kodi.
The location of the TV is important, as the antenna works best near a window.
