TW: Disturbing
Good news first:
I am home safe and sound.
Bad news:
Things got so bad in Camden, NY where I was staying with a now former friend, I had to call police. I almost had Becky in her carrier when Jim (the ex-friend)

grabbed her without asking me, then grabbed her tail with one hand and I think her leg with the other. The kitty was so terrified, she sprayed, pooped, scratched Jim and ran. I was done with his emotional and physical abuse, so I went into the bathroom and called police.

A village cop and a NY State Trooper (State cop) both showed up. I told them what happened and asked for help getting home safely. I also asked that they inspect his house because it was in shambles and he had two dead cats in his freezer. He has been saying he was going to cremate them, however one has been in his freezer for over a year now. I asked for a welfare check on his cats and a psych eval on him.

I have never seen Jim act like this before. I suspected he was abusing his rx painkillers, or was off his psych meds. It's not up to me to figure out his behaviour.
The cops were nice enough to try and help me get Becky into her carrier, however despite our best efforts, she was too scared to go in. My aunt picked me up at a coffee place after the cop drove me there.

The cops told everyone the plan was to call me when Becky was in her carrier and ready for me to pick her up. I have not heard from Jim's tenant with whom Becky and I were staying. I hope she will be OK because Jim is unhinged and his tenant is his enabler, very submissive and afraid to stand up to him. I gave her my number but she did not want to give me hers. It's been a few hours and I've heard nothing yet so I called the police and asked them how long I should wait. They asked for Jim's #.

I told the cop Becky is my ESA. She said she would call them and ask them to reach out to me

The cop called back. Jim is cooperating. Becky was so terrified she is going to need another day or two. My aunt agreed to bring me out there to pick her up. I feel a little better now.

@MordantCarnival Thank you. Becky is home safe and sound now. The cops were extremely helpful in getting us both to safety and I cannot thank them enough.
