“Echo, Echo…”

I feel like I have spent my entire life waiting:
Waiting at the doctor's office,
Waiting for the shoe to drop,
Waiting for my big break; waiting to just catch a break.

Wishing for more thrills,
Fewer pills, no spills.

All I want is my life back. No matter what I do
To try and get ahead,
every word
I have said
Stirs
about in that echo chamber,
Waiting to be
heard.
