The look on Doodle Bug's face, in contrast with Gidee 🤣. He's all "Wait, who? Me? What? What I do?"😅
And now, Doodle Bug is a tunnel bug! I knew she would be. She's just not polished enough to handle distraction like her brother. This is after 5 minutes of chucking pieces of chicken into the tunnel to get her used to being in there. This is day 1 brand new for her! Way to go Doodle! My smart babies ♥️
New day. New tunnel. NO PROBLEM for this smart boy! First attempt!
The confidence he has, and the bond/trust we have, makes for a great foundation
Good boy, Gid!
I did try introducing DeeDee, and she was like hahahaha NO. I have no doubt she, too, will love it, once I work with her 1:1.
Also, for those who didn't see the posts, he just learned the tunnel command YESTERDAY, with a makeshift tunnel!
Part 2 - Tunnel Master!
After training the first time, we took a break, I fed them, we rested an hour and I just took him out again.
LOOK AT HIM NOW! When I say this dog is smart, when I joke he is "too smart" this is what I mean. He is exceptional.
So proud of him! This is day 1. Imagine when he's months and years in! Day 1, and less than 5 minutes of training.
Beauty and brains. Form and function. Total package.
Ohh, Gideon. Why are you SO SMART?! We are training for barn hunt. Part of the test, along with alerting to a rat, is doing a climb (on a hay bale) and a tunnel, which is also made with hay bales.i don't have hay, so make due with 2 large storage totes & a piece of cardboard.
Posting 2 parts. His original try, and just now.
Unleashed, this dog got it, in like 2 minutes his first ever attempt and introduction to tunneling!
Part 1 - The intro!
Omgggg! I just went out with the dogs, looked again, and there's not just 1, but 3🍉 babies!
The kindness of strangers. Gidee is always a fan of meeting new people. Today is no different. A man approached, nice camera in hand, asking if he may photograph Gidee. I say yes, of course. He takes a pic, shows me, it's adorable. I thank him for thinking to shoot him, and we go our separate ways. A little while later, he brings me this beautiful wallet-size Polaroid of the shot he took. What a lovely surprise!
You never know what it will mean, giving someone a few minutes of your time. ❤️
One big, handsome pumpkin head. Givin ya his best smile and lip biting sessy lewk.😉🤣💜
Candids from the barn hunt event yesterday.
Went to a barn hunt trial with friends yesterday. Big representation for our breed, so we took a group pic. Sharing the reality of getting the perfect shot, along with the good shot🤣 it turned into a whole scene, with half the competitors kindly putting down their lunch and coming over to make noises and throw things to get them to all look one way 😅
Batch 2 of the lemon cukes are coming along, as are the green pepper, basil and dill babies! Batch 1 of the cukes are thriving. It lost some leaves in storm damage. But, tons of new growth, and baby cukes. Like all over now! We will be well supplied for a while. Only realnstruggle has been the drought and heat fatigue.
Kaysea boop! My favorite Doxie potato head.💜 The only way I can groom her underside. She's a long-coated dachshund, but they get her stripped short, like a smooth coat. Why they didn't just get a smooth coat, is none of my business, lol. She's not the moat cooperative, but she trusts me, and we found a compromise to get her groomed while happy. 💜
